Autodesk Names Alfred Castino as Chief Financial Officer; Castino Brings More Than 20 Years of Global Financial Management and Technology Experience

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Jul 18, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADSK), the world's leading design software and digital content company, today announced the appointment of Alfred Castino as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Castino joins Autodesk with a distinguished career spanning more than 20 years of global financial management and technology experience from Virage, PeopleSoft, Chiron Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Company. In this role, Castino will report directly to CEO Carol Bartz and oversee the departments of finance, treasury, business development and investor relations.

Prior to joining Autodesk, Castino was the CFO of Virage, a leading provider of video and rich media communication software, where he led the company to a successful initial public offering. His responsibilities encompassed financial and administration functions, as well as leading a business operation.

Castino held the position of senior vice president and CFO for PeopleSoft, where he developed and managed the company's financial and administrative infrastructure, including a staff of over 450 people.

Before PeopleSoft, Castino was the controller for Chiron Corporation, where he integrated the finance and administration functions across a large and diverse set of businesses for the $1.1 billion dollar company. Prior to Chiron, Castino worked at Sun Microsystems for eight years in a series of key domestic and international finance assignments. Before Sun, Castino was employed by Hewlett-Packard Company for seven years, where he held various divisional finance management positions. Castino holds a CPA from the state of California, an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Holy Cross College.
