Autodesk Reports No Change to Business Outlook; Third Quarter Tracking to Initial Guidance

Sep 20, 2001

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 2001--Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADSK), the world's leading design and digital content creation company, today confirmed that its business operations were not directly affected by the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. last week. The company reported that its financial forecast for the third quarter ending October 31 is on track as initially guided.

"September 11, 2001 will be a heartbreaking day in history," said Carol Bartz, Autodesk chairman and CEO. "Autodesk shares the grief of our nation for those lives that have been lost. While the world has become a more uncertain place, we will continue to serve our customers, ensuring that those who sought to disrupt us do not succeed."

The statements above contained in the business outlook are forward-looking statements that involve risks and uncertainties. In addition to factors discussed above, other factors that could cause actual results to differ materially include the following: disruptions in international distribution channels, macroeconomic circumstances, general market and business conditions, pricing pressure, failure to achieve continued success in technology advancements, and timely release of new products and services. Further information on potential factors that could affect the financial results of Autodesk are included in the Company's Report on Form 10-K for the year ended January 31, 2001, and Form 10-Q for the quarter ended July 31, 2001, which are on file with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
